The position of a Care Coordinator is a front-line leadership role within our Domiciliary Care Setting
As a care coordinator, you'll be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations within the care setting, including managing staff teams, managing budgets and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets national care standards.
Responsibilities
As a care coordinator, you'll be responsible for meeting national minimum standards of care issued by the Care Quality Commission
Your responsibilities are to:
- ensure the delivery of quality, person-centred care
- manage care quality
- recruit and supervise staff
- take on a visible leadership role
- maintain quality standards and ensure health and safety compliance
- liaise with and maintain partnerships with other local community organisations
- ensure any regulatory activity, such as personal care and administering medicines, is delivered within regulations
- provide information, advice and support to residents' families
- safeguard and promote the welfare of the adults
- ensure the quality of care provided is consistent with current legislation
- liaise with local authorities as well as health and other professionals working with adults
- assess new referrals and carry out inductions
What to expect
- You will be expected to spend considerable office time completing paperwork, but also visit carers and residents in their own homes. You may need to go into the community and provide care to clients at short notice.
- You may need to travel during the working day when you have responsibility for more than one client or to attend meetings.
Person Specification:
- Experience of delivering and managing care support services
- Understanding principles of good care
- Able to prioritise, particularly under pressure
- Flexible; willing and able to work outside normal hours when requested
- Experience in a Care Coordinator position is desirable, but not essential
