Job Description:


Working hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

This is a hybrid working position, 2-3 days spent working in Wolverhampton and the remainder of the week working from home.

  • To deliver purchasing projects which ensure value is added in terms of cost, quality, delivery and service.
  • To analyse spend data and formulate a purchasing category strategy for specific projects.
Plans are to include, but are not limited to:

- market and supplier analysis
- defining and approving purchasing strategy
- executing through tender and benchmarking exercises
- contract formulation and award.
- conducting regular supplier contract negotiations and supplier performance reviews

  • To implement the category strategy plans to achieve planned outcomes and in a way that meets the local and Group business needs.
  • To deliver a professional and efficient Purchasing service to the labs and managing key stakeholders internally and suppliers externally.
  • To liaise with internal departments to ensure an excellent level of service is provided whilst ensuring adherence to purchasing policies and procedures.
  • To obtain significant cost savings on defined scope of consumables, equipment and services for Eurofins companies with increasing level of product quality, service and delivery.
  • To drive standardization and rationalization of the product and supplier base, in close conjunction with your internal clients.
  • To manage relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best contract conditions.
  • To carry out site visits to review Purchasing Activity with business stakeholders as required.
  • To maintain purchasing data base (supplier master files, item pricing files, etc).
  • To carry out any other tasks as may be deemed necessary by the line manager.

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience of working in a strategic purchasing role.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with proven experience of tendering and cost management.
  • High energy, 'cando' attitude with drive and a passion to win.
  • Performance driven mindset to deliver within agreed deadlines. Project management skills preferable.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to engage, collaborate and influence.
  • A customer focused approach to meet the business needs and alignment on priorities.
  • Supplier relationship management expertise, including performance reviews.
  • Good knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.
  • Experience with Coupa (preferable but not essential) or other purchasing systems (e.g.
SAP).

  • IT literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PowerBi.
