    What's unique about this role?

    The Senior Review Manager holds an important role within the organization and is responsible for assisting the Director of Managed Review in realizing the vision of our EMEA Managed Review delivery engine. They will work directly alongside the Director of Managed Review to ensure an efficient, error-free, nimble delivery approach with a focus on continuous improvement and operationalizing innovation.

    What will this person do?

    Strategy & Leadership

  • Promote and communicate the operational vision, mission, and overall direction of the Lighthouse vision and approach to Managed Review; promoting the maximization of technology to expedite review output, reduce cost and streamline the overall management of complex data sets;
  • Understand and promote technology led review services, including TAR1, TAR2 techniques and, ultimately H5 solutions, i.e KDI, DART, MI & MA;
  • Support the organization's overall strategic goals and contribute to the profitability requirements of the operational teams as determined by the strategic plans through the implementation of innovative managed review strategies;
  • Management of client relationships, including high level consulting on search, analytics, predictive coding, conceptual categorization, due diligence, data protection requests and review;
  • Provision of bespoke consulting services to clients on analytics and strategic review offerings;
  • Act as the internal escalation point person for internal issues involving Managed Review projects;
  • With future department growth, responsibility for training and mentoring of junior Review Managers:Defining areas and methods of training and particular tests or benchmarks;Assessing skill levels and suggesting areas of improvement for junior team members;Performs full range of client-facing responsibilities in defining, managing, reporting, and communicating case/client specific Managed Review projects.
  • Operations

  • Collaborate with the Director of Managed Review to define and implement project specific workflows for the substantive review element of each project;
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery in the oversight of the end-to-end workflow for Managed Review matters including ingestion, processing, and maintenance of large and complex data sets for highly sophisticated corporations, law firms and internal clients;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Managed Review and the wider team across a range of proposals and tender applications, providing meaningful contributions to any and all Managed Review elements of the process;
  • Identify, interview and on-board appropriate candidates for specific managed review/due diligence/DSAR engagements;
  • Prepare and provide to the client comprehensive written briefing materials on a project specific basis;
  • Provide comprehensive project specific training to the review team;
  • Implement and administer stringent QC processes for managed review output, including daily sampling, provision of daily feedback to the team and preparation and provision of detailed reports to the client;
  • Cultivate and maintain a pool of specialist reviewers for complex review matters spanning a range of specialisms;
  • Maintain and manage third party relationships with Document Review providers as required to satisfy client requests.
  • Industry Thought Leadership

  • Attend industry seminars, round tables, panel events, seek speaking opportunities and provide regular contributions to company thought leadership through blogs and other written publications;
  • Maintain an awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards, and so forth. Generally, being aware of any opportunities that the organization can leverage and pursue for its advantage. Participate in client facing activities as needed.

  • Legally qualified either as a solicitor or barrister;
  • Experience owning and managing a profit centre with track record of driving profitable results;
  • Experience overseeing the planning and implementation of numerous complex review projects with project specific revenue of > £3M;
  • Extensive legal document review expertise across a range of legal specialisms;
  • Partnered with cross functional leadership including product development, software engineering, and IT organizations closely in the past;
  • A desire to work in a fast paced environment and be comfortable multi-tasking;
  • A passion for strategic planning, analytical thinking, and voicing their opinions;
  • A proven track record of successfully managing and developing teams and individuals;
  • A proven track record of effectively utilising and allocating resources;
  • Strong communication skills including at the executive level and experience in front of clients;
  • A proven ability to negotiate cross functional challenges, managing conflicting views and finding solutions;
  • A desire to travel to prospective and existing clients, training and conferences required.
  • A desire to work in a fast paced environment and be comfortable multi-tasking;
  • A passion for strategic planning, analytical thinking, and voicing their opinions;
  • A proven track record of successfully managing and developing teams and individuals;
  • A proven track record of effectively utilizing and allocating resources;

  • Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
