Goods In/Out - Operative

  • This job description provides an overview of the role's responsibilities but is not exhaustive. Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Responsible To
The post holder reports directly to and is supervised by the Stores Supervisor


Overall Purpose of the Job
To handle the receiving and dispatching of goods at Brinkley Aerospace. This includes managing all associated paperwork for goods receipt and dispatch, and maintaining storage areas according to aviation standards.


Main Duties and Responsibilities
Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Checking the condition of all goods arriving at or leaving Brinkley Aerospace.
  • Logging all incoming and outgoing work-related goods in the Brinkley system.
  • Documenting that all goods entering or leaving Brinkley are free from damage.
  • Coordinating deliveries to meet customer timelines.
  • Assisting drivers in loading and unloading work-related shipments.
  • Operating the company's forklift truck.
  • Assigning parts/components to their designated areas.
  • Keeping the goods in/out areas clean and organized.
  • Participating in the development and organization of Goods In/Out spaces.
  • Maintaining the Mezzanine floor storage area according to aviation standards.

Essential Skills
The ideal candidate must possess:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in Goods In/Out operations.
  • A forklift truck driving license.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • A valid and clean driving license.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of Aerospace Products.

Terms and Conditions
This is a full-time permanent position.


Working hours: 40 hours per week (mostly Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00), with flexibility required to meet aerospace industry demands.

Salary:
Up to £26,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Biggleswade: ability to commute reliably or plan relocation before starting work (mandatory).
