Compliance Officer - Swindon, United Kingdom - FLEETCOR

Your role
To support the delivery of the day-to-day activities of the Compliance function within FLEETCOR in the UK and Europe, ensuring the business is appropriately supported through organized, efficient and controlled compliance activities.
- To develop appropriate systems and internal controls, and to ensure that they are implemented and maintained.
- Support the Team Data Compliance activity, where required deputise for the DPO and provide SME Data Protection and Governance advice to UK and EU legislation.
- Identify regulatory and compliance issues arising from the business' activities, and work with internal and external parties to craft solutions for related compliance activities.
- Regularly interact with multiple stakeholders throughout the business (e.g., Sales, Account Management, Product, Marketing, etc.) to stay abreast of sales, marketing and product strategies and developments.
- Liaise between the business and compliance and legal teams and SMEs in working through and solving for regulatory and compliance challenges.
- Review marketing collateral to ensure regulatory compliance, accuracy and transparency.
- To assist with the design, development and documentation of Sarbanes-Oxley business controls.
- Assist in the testing of Sarbanes-Oxley business controls to gain assurance that controls are in place and are operating effectively.
- Support the business in the development and effectiveness of Business Continuity Planning.
- Support our broader Compliance Framework through a One FLEETCOR approach through scheduled reviews and audits including:
Work with other stakeholders to collate, investigate and seek resolution of incidents experienced within the business to mitigate further reoccurrence.
Support issuing of assurances information to support contract bids or customer enquiries.- Proven experience in a compliance, audit or financial services role.
- Demonstrable experience or competency in Data Governance, ideally holding recognized qualifications and experience such as CIPM or CIPPE.
- Methodical and analytical approach with an eye for detail.
- Interest in creating systems and processes.
- Ability to challenge whilst maintaining a positive working relationship.
- Pragmatic and business focused approach.
- Knowledge and understanding of regulations that may impact the FLEETCOR business.
- Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" to get things done (alone or with a team), but also comfortable providing general oversight on projects and initiatives
