This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Care Officer to join the Kinnoull Community Day Opportunities team.
The post holder will provide Day Opportunities for Adults with learning disabilities, supporting individuals to enable them to access and participate in a variety of group activities within the community and building bases.
As a Social Care Officer you will be responsible for undertaking link worker duties which includes file maintenance, co-ordinating and chairing reviews, formulating and developing personal plans to meet specified and future outcomes.
You will also be required to support individuals with varied needs, including individuals who may display stressed and distressed behaviours.
Duties will also include assisting individuals with personal care which can include intimate personal care, cleaning tasks within the building and other duties as required.
You will be required to work flexibly and carry out escort duties on our daily transport if required.
A full driving license and a willingness to drive Perth and Kinross Council Vehicles is desirable but not essential for this post.
The Individual:
We require a dynamic individual who is motivated and creative to support individuals with learning disabilities to reach their full potential within the community.
You should have experience of working with vulnerable adults who have learning or physical disabilities, autism spectrum conditions or other varying needs.
There is no entry qualification requirement, but you will be required and supported to work towards SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF level 7 (was SVQ3)
