Motor Claims Handler (Multiple)

**Location: Hybrid (2 days home/3 days office

  • North Shields)**
    Hours: Mon-Fri office hours (35 hour working week 9am5pm)

My client is a highly dynamic Insurance broker with Head Office based in North Sheilds where the business roots firmly lie.

The business supports provision of specialist insurance products for specific target markets which continues to evolve as the competitive market changes.

The company's expertise in these markets is second to none, and it prides itself on being forward-thinking and customer focused.


Due to continued growth, my client has number of opportunities for Motor Claims Advisors to join our Claims Department to provide support to our growing customer base.

You will be responsible for end-to-end management of insurance claims, supporting customers through their specific journey through to successful completion of each claim.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Ability to work effectively with customers, third party providers, brokers, and internal stakeholders to deliver high level of customer satisfaction reflective of client brand
  • Managing the end to claims process which includes, initial assessment, review, investigate then negotiation of claims through to closure to obtain optimum settlement in accordance with individual KPIs, IASA requirements and own agreed limits.
  • Manages inbound & outbound communication from policyholders and third parties to assist in swift closure of claims and to reduce any unnecessary costs of the claim.
  • Ensures all documentation and information is attained then recorded to assist liability decision & compliance
  • Managing own portfolio of claims, prioritising as required managing timeframes/deadlines successfully to ensure closure of claims.
  • Recognise complaints and in line Collingwood procedures and refer accordingly and resolve any issues first time where appropriate.

Key qualities & experience required include:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in the Insurance/Claims
  • Claims handling & claims management experience essential.
  • Excellent communication & Customer service skills
  • Knowledge of insurance claims and insurance industry practices
  • Strong analytical & problemsolving skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple claims simultaneously.
  • High level of attention to detail coupled with the ability to follow procedures and guidelines.
  • Experience with handling motor or commercial claims.
  • Ability to work as part of an effective Team.
