    Job summary

    The postholderwill join our Local Administration Team at The Robert Darbishire Practice. Theyprovide administration support to our patients, clinicians and non-clinicalstaff. The team works closely with our Practice Reception, the postholder maybe required to take on reception duties during busy periods and to cover staffabsences.

    The LocalAdministration Team provides a responsive, courteous, calm and efficientservice at all times. Working in the ever-changing environment of the NHS, thepostholder must be willing and able to adapt to changing circumstances and beflexible in their work and approach.

    The postholderreports to the Local Administration Team Leader.

    Main duties of the job

    The Local Administration Team provides administrativesupport for the patients and staff at The Robert Darbishire Practice. We aim todeliver an accurate and timely service in a professional manner.

    Our Administration Clerks are responsible for themanagement of patient data, which can include patient registrations, laboratoryresults and medical records.

    They are also responsible for dealing with the variousnon-NHS services that we offer our patients. These include subject accessrequests, patient forms, liaising with Solicitors and preparing safeguardingreports.

    The Administration Clerk also monitors the practiceemail inbox and distributing the contents to the relevant team.

    You don't need to have worked in healthcare before aslong as you have excellent people skills, a good attention to detail and youare willing and eager to learn new skills. We will provide in-house trainingand support.

    Ourstaff team of about 120 people has a great mix of skills and experience. Wehave exciting plans to expand this team even more, to help us further ourmission to improve lives.

    The post is full-time, hours per week and will be mostly based at The Robert Darbishire Practice, although you will also need to be able to travel to our other sites as needed. The usual working hours are 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

    Salary will be in the range £23,465 to £25,415 pro rata (full-time is hours), depending on experience. We offer optional membership of the NHS Pension Scheme and up to weeks holiday (depending on NHS service) plus Bank Holidays (pro rata).

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • General education to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Experience of completing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
  • The ability to produce accurate and thorough work in a prompt and efficient manner, working to set timescales.
  • Experience using computers with a variety of different software packages, and good keyboard skills.
  • Experience working with the public, preferably in a customer service role.
