Material Flow & Line Side Presentation Plannerrole.

Material Flow & Line Side Presentation Planner


Location:

Duration:12 Months


Responsibilities:


  • Working with teams across the logistics teams material planners are responsible for getting materials onto transport.
  • Flow planners are responsible for getting materials through the process of building an engine and getting back onto the transport.
  • Working with the physical logistics team to plan and deliver the produce (engine).
  • 400,000 engines a year with potential to increase.
  • Having to manage multiple projects at the same time.

Functional Scop:


  • The Material Flow & Lineside presentation Planner (MF&LPP) has overall responsibility for the supply of parts from arrival at the plant to the fitpoint and the return of empties.
  • He / she has responsibility for the detailed planning in terms of receiving, storage, delivery to line, line side presentation, delivery to the empties storage and despatch of completed products and empty containers.
  • He / she develops a concept and then through liaising with other key process partners (e.g. container planner / supply chain planner, Machining / Assembly) ensures that the total process is consistent, viable, cost effective and efficient.
  • The MF&LPP is also responsible for completing the material flow data in MILES. The MF&LPP is also liaising with the Layout and installation planner to develop a space and process optimised layout for line side stations.

  • CAD desirable experience / knowledge.
  • Logistics background.
  • Planning background.

Structural Integration:


  • The material Flow and line side presentation planner is reporting to the Manager Planning Value Stream, Structure, Logistics Facilities.
  • Developing and implementing cost effective new methods / processes (e.g., automated transports) which support the needs of the customer (Logistics Operations).

Objectives:


  • Efficient layout and process (FKprop minimised).
  • Efficient supply chain that provides parts to the line when required.
  • Sufficient capacity and throughput for production requirements.
  • Ensure sufficient capacity / space is available.
  • Integrated material flow and lie side presentation with no impact on production.
  • Line side layout.
  • Where the parts are placed and where to locate the materials.
  • Material flow concept.
  • Stores capacity and throughput.
  • Is the environment suitable for production.
  • Receiving and despatch process.
  • Lorry arrives, tell physical logistics what they must do.
  • Reference Models.
  • Series support for TUE's / engine projects.
  • Health and Safety procedure and key steps are followed.
  • Work to tight deadlines and be accountable.

Knowledge, Skill & Experienced Required:


  • Educational requirements : Degree/Masters with 35 years related experience.
  • Selfmotivated.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Creative thinking.
  • Analytical & logical.
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, SAP).
  • Presentation skills.
  • Good breadth & depth of knowledge of all logistics processes.
