The Opportunity:

Nigel Wright Recruitment has been retained to support a high growth tier 1 contractor in the infrastructure sector, with the appointment of a critical commercial leadership position.

This is a tremendous opportunity for an individual to take a progressivecareer move and join an exciting, innovative and successful organisation that is experiencing 25% YOY growth.

The business is currently circa £50m turnover and operates as an autonomous business unit within a larger international group setup.

The customerbase includes a number of high profile and prestigious blue chip companies and the order book is full for 2023, with an extremely strong prospect base for the longer term.

The new hire can be based either in the North East or Yorkshire.

Role Profile:

This is a strategic level leadership role with responsibility across the legal, commercial, tendering, project winning and procurement.functions.
The position will report into the Managing Director and will require collaboration with both them and the wider leadership team, to inform the strategic direction and growth plan for the business.
Acquisition identification will form part of the strategic responsibilities of the role.
Risk mitigation, competitor and market analysis and contract / framework negotiation will be crucial aspects to the individual's responsibilities.
Coaching and developing individuals across the functions reporting into the role, will be the natural approach within the position, whilst considering succession planning and supporting the acceleration of high potential up and coming talent.
Upline performance and reporting to the board as required.

Person Specification:

Likely to have come through the quantity surveying and commercial management academic and career route.
Natural people management and leadership skills with the ability to lead from the front and inspire teams.
Naturally ambitious and motivated by a high intensity high growth dynamic environment.
May be suitable to someone stepping up from commercial management, or moving sideways from acommercial leadership role, looking for a more dynamic growth focussed environment.
Must be commutable to either the North East or Yorkshire.

Comfortable with sporadic UK and Ireland wide business travel.
