The role
The Programme Funding Officer works within the Empowering Education, as part of the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM)contract and with the Management Accountant and NCETM Strand Directors, to provide high quality financial management of the NCETM contract, the Maths Hubs Programme and the Maths Hubs Network Fund.
Some of your key responsibilities are to:
- Build and manage strong and effective working relationships with all stakeholders
- Attend and contribute to meetings, working groups, and Maths Hubs network events.
- Work with the Director for System Leadership on the annual planning and ongoing monitoring of the Maths Hubs Programme funding
- Coordinate clear and robust processes for managing Maths Hub funds
- Prepare finance reports on Maths Hubs Programme Funding and attend regular finance meetings with the DfE
- Contribute to monthly budget meetings with Strand Directors and Management Accountant to review and forecast monthly spend.
- Produce guidance for Maths Hubs Operational Management teams and support them with financial reporting processes and systems
- Create and maintain Income and Expenditure sheets for each project codes and be able to produce a summary report as and when requested.
- Manage the contract Officer and support wider business to help ensure key administrative and project support duties are covered during times of high work volume and/or staff absence
The Person
- Experience of working in business / finance administration role
- Good knowledge and experience of budget planning, monitoring, analysis and reporting
- Experience of setting up and using financial tracking systems.
- Experience of budget planning, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience of successfully meeting KPIs and working to tight deadlines.
- Experience of working with senior managers and directors.
- Able to work with financial figures to accurately analyse and produce management information.
- Able to work independently, without direct supervision.
- Finance qualification AAT is desirable but not essential
