Why are we hiring?

We are now recruiting temporary roles to support our 2024 Turnaround (TAR) event, an event which enables us to undertake critical project work across the Refinery.

Are you a Category Lead looking for your next exciting opportunity?

Do you have the skills and experience we need?

We would love to hear from applicants with purchasing experience who can demonstrate a proven history of delivering cost savings and value.

A degree or equivalent chartered membership in a related procurement or quantity surveying discipline would be advantageous, for example MCIPS.

We would also consider applicants who can demonstrate a sound financial understanding and awareness of the cost drivers on contracts as well as within the industry supply chain.

Previous experience of NEC suite of contracts would be advantageous.

The computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) we use is Maximo, therefore previous experience using this or another similar CMMS would be beneficial.

Your Accountabilities

Determine the style of contract that will best deliver the best overall value and delivery outcome for the business
Verify requirement and scope specification eliminating unnecessary costs expenditure
Ensure that all Purchase orders and Contracts are placed in accordance within defined business processes
Develop supplier positioning profiles in order to assess business risk and opportunity
Dispute Management, experienced in claims mitigation, with the ability to challenge with rationale and reason cost disputes when they arise mitigating all exposures on contracts
Provide expert advice on supplier risks, including in depth market knowledge both commercial and technical
Ensure contracts are fully compliant and legally binding to support business needs and mitigation of commercial risk
Identify new potential suppliers to create additional competitiveness and market tension
