Job Title: Teaching Assistant at a Special Educational Needs School

Salary: £12.78 per hour (actual salary range available depending on experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only

Your Skills/Qualifications/Experience

Experience with Special Educational Needs in a professional or voluntary capacity
UK driving license and access to your own car essential for transporting students
Qualification in Support work for Teaching and Learning preferable
GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification required
Familiarity with Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
Experience with pupils having Special Educational Needs or other challenges
Ability to prioritize the well-being and individuality of each child
Positive and creative mindset to meet varying needs of pupils

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, your main responsibility is to support students in their learning and overall well-being to help them achieve their full potential. Building a nurturing relationship with pupils is crucial to creating a safe and conducive learning environment.

You are expected to assist the class teacher in providing engaging educational activities and maintaining high expectations for pupil behavior. Fostering independence and personal development among students is a key aspect of the role.

Key duties:

Active participation in planning and evaluating learning activities
Providing constructive feedback on student progress
Monitoring, assessing, and reporting student progress
Supporting positive behavior and concentration levels
Promoting holistic development and well-being of pupils through a comprehensive curriculum
