Hostel Office - Trinity Lodge, Fairfield Road, Montpelier, Bristol BS6 5JL.

The Role and our Service Ambition.

The Temporary Accommodation Officer role is part of a team providing quality accommodation, housing management and commissioned support. This is for homeless families in a range of accommodation including a hostel, blocks of flats and dispersed properties.


The team is part of the wider Housing Options Service, where all aspects of housing and homelessness are dealt with.

The Housing Options Service is currently implementing a full service redesign, with the aid of external and experienced consultants. We aim to offer a full homeless prevention and accommodation service that matches our values of excellence and value. You will play a key role in the delivery of this vision.


The team also provides the Supported Move On scheme of accommodation and floating support to those that have had a history of rough sleeping, or at risk of it.

This stable accommodation, primarily self-contained and some shared accommodation for up to 2 years to enable single people develop to be ready for fully independent living.


The Temporary Accommodation Officers assess nominations, then providing client led, person centric floating support and intensive housing management, including signing up and managing tenancies.

How do I apply?
**For permanent Bristol City Council employees, this post will be a secondment.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.

If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
