We are looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist - based in London.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Regional Head of Human Resources, the Senior Payroll Specialist acts to ensure the accurate and timely management of UK and Nordics AGCS Payroll whilst maintaining complete accounting records in compliance with regulations.

We are looking for someone able to adapt to change, as AGCS presents a rapidly evolving business context.

In 2023 this role will be responsible for the migration of AGCS UK Payroll to the new ADP IHCM platform.


Some of your specific responsibilities could include

  • Managing payroll, by ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all monthly payroll amendments held in the payroll file, and supervising Nordic payrolls
  • Handling ad hoc tasks such as processing of bonuses, backdates, pension, share plans and shadow modified payroll, and senior executive long term incentive plans
  • Ensuring payroll tax compliance with current regulations in collaboration with external service providers (submission of annual returns to include P11Ds, PAYE settlement agreement etc)
  • Acting as main point of contact with HMRC on payroll and related matters, managing tax for international assignees on modified / shadow payrolls
  • Accounting for P&L and balance sheet of monthly payroll and other related transactions for the UK and Nordic countries, responsible for the review of payroll reconciliations
  • Critical evaluation of the payroll processes and workflows, suggesting improvements
  • Managing 3rd party service providers to ensure high quality of service delivery, providing escalation for queries as necessary
  • You are the main UK partner for local and global Payroll related projects including payroll migrations

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • At least 5 years' proven HR experience in payroll in a similar context, including executive taxation
  • A CIPP diploma in payroll management or equivalent studies and certificates
  • Excellent communication skills in fluent English
  • Experience of SAP or other financial ledgers
  • Strong interpersonal skills at every level of the organization and a candoattitude
  • A deep understanding of double entry payroll management including internal controls, accounting, compliance and PAYE regulations
  • Knowledge of international assignee payroll management including modified shadow payrolls
  • Attention to detail and due regard for confidentiality
