We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our busy and fast-paced accounts team.
As a key member of the accounts team, the Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk will have full responsibility for a section of our large purchase ledger.
Further to this, you will create and promote a positive and supportive environment within both the team and the wider office.
We want someone who is approachable and confident in their abilities.Some of the key day-to-day responsibilities of this Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk role include (but are not limited to):
- Owning and maintaining your section of supplier accounts.
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and working with them to resolve issues.
- Reconciling statements in preparation for monthend payments.
- Ensuring all suppliers are paid correctly, and all queries are dealt with promptly and conclusively.
- Chasing and recovering outstanding credit balances.
- Matching sales reports to supplier invoices.
- Processing shortage claims.
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 2 years of accounts experience, preferably in purchase ledger
- Excellent MS Office skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to take ownership of queries and respond within a timely manner
- Confident in dealing with a highvolume workload
- Clear and confident communication skills
- A strong team ethic with a flexibility and willingness to adapt where necessary to help the wider team.
- Resilience with the ability to problemsolve
Previous experience using Sage accounting software would be beneficial for this Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk position.
