Arboriculture Operative x 2 positions

NJC SCP 8-9 - £22,777 - £24,054**A vacancy has arisen within the Technical & Bereavement Team who deliver the day-to-day management and maintenance of Council owned trees throughout the Borough.


About the role.
The main function of the role is the management and maintenance of Council owned trees throughout the Borough.


You must hold a CS30 & C31 qualification in the use and maintenance of chainsaws you must also be willing to work towards obtaining a Level 2 qualification in Forestry & Arboriculture which would include the climbing and dismantling of large trees.


You will be expected to work Borough wide and respond to requests that are received via the Council's online reporting system.

The ability to be able to operate mobile devices is essential in order to receive and process service requests.

You must be able to follow Supervisor & Managers instructions and work well as part of a team. A knowledge of Health & Safety and how to follow risk assessments is also required.

You will have the opportunity to be included on the rota to be part of the team who deal with emergency jobs that are received out of hours

You must have

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Hold a CS30 &31 qualification in the use of a chainsaw
  • Must be willing to work towards obtaining a Level 2 qualification in Forestry & Arboriculture which would include the climbing and dismantling of large trees.
  • A knowledge of safe working practice in line with Health & Safety
  • Knowledge of Tree maintenance
  • Be able to identify different species of trees
  • Good Customer Service
  • Be able to work to deadlines
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Be able to use mobile technology
