*Taurus Healthcare are advertising on behalf of Weobley & Staunton Surgeries*The post-holder will project a positive and friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitors and deal with queries in a professional, courteous and efficient way across both Weobley & Staunton on Wye Surgeries.


Main duties of the job:


Assist in the preparation, dispensing and sale of prescriptions and medicines/appliances and assist with stock control, ordering and re-stocking of the dispensary.


Job responsibilities:


  • Take requests for prescription repeats via the telephone, online or over the counter
  • Issue paper and electronic prescriptions to dispensing and nondispensing patients within the required timescales for monthly repeat prescriptions
  • Checking of dispensed prescriptions for signature/endorsements and oversee the sorting into paid/unpaid by doctor
  • Assembling prescription items for dispensing
  • Issuing stock items and prepared prescriptions
  • Collection of charges for prescriptions and private treatment/checking patient exemption statements including the cashing up of prescription monies, balancing and recording, submitting prescription monies for banking, ensuring sufficient change is available
  • Ensure timely stock rotation and remove out of date stock from shelves, refrigerators and dispose of accordingly
  • Disposal of returned, unused medications

Salary:
£9.76 per hour.

About Us:


The Weobley and Staunton on Wye Practice is a rural dispensing GP Surgery, split across two locations with approximately 6,500 patients.

Due to re-organisation, we are looking for a Dispensary Assistant who will project a positive and friendly image to patients and who is professional, efficient and enthusiastic with a flexible approach to fill this permanent position.

On the job training will be provided if required.
