We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced
Product Engineer to join our team.

Based from our head office in Basingstoke, you'll combine home and office working to ensure a positive work / life balance.


The role
You'll be responsible for designing, building, and improving new products and existing products across the business. With a focus on low code solutions, you'll maximise Sovereign's strategic investment in the Microsoft product stack.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Designing, testing and building new product solutions alongside making improvements to existing ones
  • Collaborating with Product Managers and System Engineers to understand product development requirements and propose solutions that meet acceptance criteria
  • Proactively researching and prototyping MS Azure Cloud Services, helping Product Managers understand available and future capabilities
  • Configuring, testing, and deploying low code solutions, focused on the Microsoft Product Stack
  • Writing, testing, and deploying product code, software updates and product changes
  • Designing, building, configuring and deploying Product API's
  • Maintaining code repositories, CI/CD pipelines and Test Plans related to product development within MS Azure DevOps
  • Developing a granular understanding of the Microsoft Power Platform products, using this knowledge to build and deploy business solutions

What you'll need


You should have previous experience in a similar technical role, with strong knowledge and experience of the full product lifecycle.

You'll have strong commercial acumen with the ability to combine the requirement to champion a customer-centric approachto product solution design and the needs of Sovereign.


You'll also need:

  • Proven experience with software languages such as Java, C#/C++ and Python
  • Awareness of building and deploying Microsoft Power Platforms solutions
  • Experience of deploying and maintaining Cloud Services, preferably within Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in building and maintaining web interfaces, API's and webservices
  • Proven experience of scaling Agile and establishing DevOps methodologies
  • Expertise in identifying, managing, and monitoring the impacts of digital change
  • Proven experience in relationship building, influencing and communication
  • Ability to negotiate the balance of customer centricity and commercial viability of a product
  • ITIL V4 or equivalent professional qualification is desirable
  • Experience of relevant CIO tools (e.g. M365, Cherwell, DevOps) and methodologies (e.g. Agile, TOGAF, ITIL)
