The College of Medicine and Health comprises the School of Psychology and Sport Science, the School of Health Sciences and the North Wales Medical School. The College has well established formal links with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Primary Healthcare providers. This enables an integrated approach to developing research, training, medical and healthcare education that serves the needs of North Wales.
The College's mission is to foster inter-disciplinary scholarship and research collaboration across the three schools. We share academic goals and practice in the pursuit of excellence in medical, mental and physical health and social care, working to breaking down traditional barriers to collaboration. We promote an inclusive culture and environment for staff and students within the College, including support for the Welsh language and culture. North Wales Medical School (NWMS) is the focus for medical education and research at Bangor University and offers a career-spanning portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including C21 Medicine (Cardiff University franchised), Physician's Associate, Biomedical Science, Medical Science and Pharmacology, a new independent Medicine programme from September 2024 and a new Pharmacy programme from 2025. NWMS is the main source of planned student and staff growth within the College and the University over the next few years.
Purpose of the Job
In addition to the generalist HR responsibilities, and given the forthcoming growth of NWMS within the College alongside our existing healthcare programmes, the post-holder will also be the source of expertise and advice in relation to the employment and engagement of Clinical Academics, understanding and interpreting the specialised nature of their engagement with the University, and working in partnership with key stakeholders such as Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Primary Healthcare provides., The post-holder will work in a business partnering role with the College and Schools' Executive Committees.
