If you are passionate about technology and have extensive experience of designing and developing Cúram Social Programme Management solutions, we invite you to bring your expertise to work in our dedicated team of software engineering professionals. Social Security Scotland, an executive agency of the Scottish Government, is undertaking the largest and most complex IT and digital change programme since devolution. With a lifetime budget of over £300m, we are delivering a social security system that will support Scotland for decades to come. This role sits within the Chief Digital Office's (CDO) Software Engineering team, which builds and maintains software services for Social Security Scotland. This includes an enterprise case management system and a range of supporting technical services, used by clients to submit benefit applications and our internal teams to manage benefit payments.

Our technical staff are largely deployed in Agile teams focussing on new benefit development, live service support and continuous improvement. We believe in supporting our team members' growth and development through their work – the successful candidate will have access to formal training courses and team learning projects to enhance their technical and non-technical skills. We also aim to develop a positive and inclusive culture within Social Security Scotland by embedding a working environment where we all treat each other with dignity, fairness and respect. What Do We Offer You?

    • You will have an annual leave allowance of 5 weeks, rising to 6 weeks after 4 years. In addition, the Scottish Government observes 111⁄2 days public and privilege holidays, dates of which are set annually.
    • Workplace adjustments for everyone that needs them to ensure your comfort and safety in your new role.

This post attracts a £5,000 DDaT pay supplement after a 3 months DDaT competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are temporary payments designed to address recruitment and retention issues caused by market pressures and are subject to regular review. This post is part of the Scottish Government DDaT profession. As a member of the profession, you will join the professional development scheme, currently BCS RoleModel plus. Hybrid Working
