Acorn Recruitment is seeking an experienced Bid Writer for their client based in Horley, Surrey. This is a hybrid role offering a salary of between £40 and £50k per annum based on experience.

The purpose of the Bid Writer is to:

  • Drive, lead and own the production of best-in-class bids and proposals
  • Understand bid timelines and develop bid plans and teams to meet the relevant milestones on time and steer the team to successful completion.
  • Develop proposal templates and responses for complex RFPs to increase the efficiency and consistency of submissions.
  • Be the main point of contact internally and externally for all questions regarding the status of RFI/RFPs including clarifications from the customer.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities

  • Understand the structure of RFPs and their scoring criteria to maximise score and probability of success for each submission.
  • Continuously evolve and raise the standard and quality of bids to increase bid win ratio.
  • Develop a suite of bid reporting and work with internal stakeholders to enhance future positioning through win/loss/market/competitor insights.
  • Develop a knowledge bank of bid material, evidence and responses to facilitate strategic development of quality and timely responses.

Process and Working Practice:

  • Develop strong relationships with all divisions.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and cooperate with managers to provide safe systems of work.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

  • Solid experience in tender proposal planning, writing, review, and delivery.

  • Strong corporate strategic and technical writing experience.
