FOR A CAPACITY PLANNER:


Produce and drive the execution of an achievable production plan for an assigned range of finished and semi-finished products in order to ensure that the site MPS is delivered and customer service targets are met and exceeded at the lowest overall cost.


DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES FOR A CAPACITY PLANNER:

  • Translate MPS, MRP and Kanban signals into a finite production schedule for identified bottleneck/constrained resources within assigned value stream(s).
  • On a weekly basis review and agree finite production schedules with all key operational stakeholders ensuring bottleneck/constrained/major resources are appropriately loaded in order to ensure the site MPS is delivered in full, and OEE and customer service targets are met and exceeded.
  • Routinely produce, update and issue worktolists and WIP trackers for agreed bottleneck/constrained resources to all key operational stakeholders.
  • Attend daily business unit Gemba meetings for assigned value stream(s) ensuring all schedule related issues impacting delivery of the site MPS are highlighted, reviewed and actioned by the relevant personnel.
  • Routinely communicate agreed production schedules and exceptional issues, including the agreed recovery plan, to the relevant Customer Program Manager for onward discussion with the external customer.
  • Ensure all MRP messages and/or warnings are actioned promptly and escalated to an appropriate team member where this isn't possible.
  • Raise and receipt all production jobs within the business ERP system ensuring each job is accurately represented both in terms of timing to current operation and completion, and quantity of 'good' parts.
  • Allocate all required materials to production jobs within the business ERP system ensuring relevant quality guidelines are adhered to at all times.
  • In conjunction with the business unit engineering lead maintain ERP system data integrity for all production/operational related fields including agreed lot sizes, resource allocation and operation timings.
  • Develop and maintain relevant standard operating procedures and/or work instructions.
  • Daily interaction with the casting or value stream team leader to expedite and tracks late parts to MRP dates
  • Keep all EPICOR E10 bookings up to date
  • Ensure data integrity at all times

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR A CAPACITY PLANNER:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a planning environment
  • Demonstrated experience within production planning/scheduling in a fast paced, regulated, precision engineering environment
  • Excellent attention to detail with a capacity to recognise problems and proactively resolve where possible, and escalate as necessary
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a methodical and organised approach to work
  • A demonstrated experience of problem solving
  • Driven by empirical data and well founded assumptions
  • Works well under pressure within a busy office environment with the ability to prioritise multiple competing tasks
  • High energy, enthusiastic and confident individual with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • A team player
  • Experience using a business ERP/MRP II system in a manufacturing environment
