    Looking for a new and exciting challenge?

    Bedford Community Mental Health team are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Social Workers to join our forward-thinking and dynamic a post holder, you will be part of a newly developed Adult Social Care pathway working collaboratively with secondary mental health services, local authorities, Integrated Care Board, primary care services, housing associations as well as the voluntary and private sector all contributing to provide a person centered and recovery focused model of care.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will hold a caseload and work within the principles of the agreed model of care for the service as laid down in the operational policy. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner within an integrated Multi-disciplinary team. This will involve the assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of the care provided and will liaise with all agencies involved with the post holder will be responsible for:? Ensuring that the values outlined in the NHS Constitution are adhered to daily and any matters of concern are raised with the relevant Line Manager or through the necessary processes within the Trust. Responsible for delivering a compassionate, dignified and respectful service to patients at all times.? Continually delivering and maintaining high standards for a defined caseload as agreed withLine Manager.? Leadership, supervision and support to junior staff.? Ensuring national targets and standards are achieved.? Building trust and developing relationships to ensure service user involvement.? Demonstrating a professional manner in all work carried out.? Maintaining accurate and timely records.? Ensuring equality and diversity values underpin the day to day working of the practice area.? Continuous professional development.

    Educational/ Qualification

    Essential

  • Qualified Social Worker registered by the HCPC.
  • Desirable

  • Qualified Mental Health Social Work/Award/Appoi nted AMHP
  • Educated to Degree Level.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Significant post-qualification experience, which must be within mental health services.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary environment/community experience..
  • Experience of working within an NHS/Local Authority environment and an understanding of the issues/ policies/ practice within these environments.
  • Desirable

  • Previous appointment as an AMHP.
  • Knowledge/Skills

    Essential

  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of mental disorder and the treatment options.
  • A thorough working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and subsequent amendments.
  • Working knowledge of the NHS & Community Care Act, The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and other social care & mental health legislation, policy & guidance.
  • Ability to assess manage complex and high risk situations effectively and to the benefit of service users and carers.
  • Good report writing skills and ability to compile complex case recording ad report presentation, including legal documents social circumstances reports, court reports etc.
  • Assessment skills and the ability to compile care plans in partnership with service users, carers and others.
  • Assertiveness and engagement with other professionals, able to make reasoned arguments and represent own professional views and perspectives.
  • Decision-making and problem solving, able to adopt creative and flexible approaches to meet the needs of service users.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, able to prioritise workload and delegate effectively.
  • Well-developed communication skills, able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Mental Health Practice Skills and an understanding of CPA and the NSF standards..
  • IT skills, experience of working with service user data systems.
