We are looking for a
Housing Solutions Officer to join our team in
Housing Solutions and share our

About the role
The Housing Solutions Team are responsible for delivering the duties under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Since the introduction of the act in April 2018, there has been a significant increase in demand for the services provided by the team.


As part of this dedicated team, you will offer detailed, complex advice to households and landlords on housing law and prevention of homelessness options.


You will take on a large case load, which you will need to prioritise and be able to react to emergency housing situations, sometimes working outside of an office environment when a home visit is necessary.


This role requires someone who can display understanding, empathy and discretion towards people facing personal difficulties within a homelessness situation whilst also being able to work creatively and collaboratively to prevent homelessness wherever possible.


About you


You will need to have experience of making homelessness decisions in line with the statutory framework and providing comprehensive well written decisions when homelessness prevention is not possible.


You will need to understand and evidence experience of compliance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, including ensuring the prevention or relief duty is met wherever possible.


You will need to have and continue to maintain an up to date, comprehensive knowledge of homelessness and housing legislation and case law.

A driving licence and access to own transport is a requirement for this job.
