Purpose of the role:

The Head of Distribution will implement, co-ordinate and oversee all activities to the business's distribution relationships and strategy. This position is will help to generate profitable business growth via multiple distribution channels.

The Head of Distribution will be responsible for marketing activities across all lines of business whilst maintaining a high profile with our key distribution partners.

The Head of Distribution will also oversee and steer external communications, PR and all media relationships.


Duties and accountabilities:


  • Development and communication of distribution strategies (internal and external) measured by delivery of an agreed plan.
  • Marketing activities including but not limited to;
  • Liaison with key coverholders including service company relationships.
  • Development of new distribution relationships.
  • Engagement with key brokers to sustain AEGIS London's profile and help ensure appropriate business is presented to AEGIS.
  • Supporting, as required, all underwriting line's marketing activities with distribution partners.
  • Liaison with underwriters to ensure external messages are consistent with the underwriting strategy.
  • Handling PR and external media requirements including third party vendors.
  • Creation of meaningful MI and analysis to help the business make informed decisions around broker engagement and to help drive the right behaviours in managing and liaising with brokers.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally where required.

Skills, knowledge and experience:


  • A deep knowledge of the Lloyds of London/Underwriting Market in the UK and internationally.
  • Excellent understanding of the workings/ practices of the broking community.
  • Welldeveloped relationships with a wide range of key contacts within the Insurance sector.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to present to audiences confidently and coherently.
  • Excellent analytical ability coupled with the skills required to manage multiple relationships and conflicting priorities.
  • A strategic mindset.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office packages and data visualisation/presentation software.
