    An esteemed independent school in Portsmouth is looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

    The Role:
    The successful candidate will play a crucial part in assisting students with special educational needs.

    Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, the SEN Teaching Assistant will contribute to a positive and supportive learning setting.

    SEN classes have a small size with a maximum of 6 students, concentrating on Key Stage 3 and 4 learning obstacles.


    Responsibilities:
    - Providing personalized support to students with SEN, within and outside the classroom.
    - Assisting in developing and implementing customized learning programs.
    - Monitoring and documenting student progress.
    - Supporting students' emotional and social development.
    - Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure comprehensive assistance.

    The Ideal Candidate:
    - Should have a patient, motivating, and encouraging attitude.
    - Previous experience with children having special educational needs is advantageous but not obligatory.
    - Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    - Is proactive and flexible in meeting students' varying needs.
    - Holds relevant qualifications or background in SEN assistance.

    All pay rates mentioned include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This post is temporary, but there may be an opportunity to make it permanent later.
