TA2 & SEN; up to 32.5 hours per week*; permanent contract

*We are open to candidates who are looking for part time

    Grade D (SCP 6-11)

Devonshire Road Primary School is a friendly and welcoming two-form entry primary school. Within our diverse setting, we aim to help all children achieve and rise to challenges; we want them to learn and grow with pride and confidence. Our most recent Ofsted was in October 2022 and we were judged as a good school who offers outstanding personal development. We have an excellent reputation and we are very proud of all we achieve at Devonshire Road. But don't take our word for it, check out our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.

We currently have 23 children who have an Education and Health Care Plan in our school. We work with these children in a way which is bespoke to their individual needs. We are looking for a teaching assistant who can support these children to thrive in our main stream setting along with supporting the learning and welfare of the wider class. Applicants should be friendly and adaptable individuals with an attitude and values which will enhance our excellent staff team. We want a professional who is willing to adapt and respond to each child's needs; someone who is resilient in the face of a challenge and who is interested in developing their own expertise.

Our children has asked for a teaching assistant who:

·Is kind, helpful and will care for them

·Is curious and excited to learn

·Is hardworking and organised (honestly, that was what they said)

·Is strict but cares about us

·Recognises that they are all wonderful

·Is respectful of everyone in and around our school

·Is happy and positive and can be funny

    · "Makes us be the best we can be"

Our staff want a colleague who:

·Is a team player; someone who is friendly, approachable and gets stuck in

·Is dedicated to getting the best for our Devonshire Road children and is resilient when facing a challenge

·Is interested in finding out how individual children learn, and is sensitive to all needs

·Is enthusiastic and fun whilst being very professional

·Is upbeat and positive with a good sense of humour

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 5th June 2024, 12noon.

Application forms should be emailed to Katy Branagan at

Shortlisting will be on Friday 7th June 2024

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on Wednesday 12th June 2024 .

The school is committed to safer recruitment and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before appointment is confirmed. The post is subject to enhanced Disclosure Barring Service clearance. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and it expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We polled our staff to ask what they thought about our school:

The children are at the heart of everything we do.

Inspiring, dedicated and supportive staff and wonderful children. Feels like my second family

Our school is an amazing place to work. We all work together as a team and the children's happiness and welfare is at the heart of everything we do.

An all-inclusive school where every child really does matter and is valued for who they are.

We encourage minds to think, hands to create and hearts to love.

I know I am working with people who want the best for me and our school family.

Devonshire road is a wonderful and supportive family.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly.

There is an incredible team spirit amongst all the staff, regardless of their role, which makes me smile every day

Efforts are valued and respect is mutual.

Everyone works together for the children to achieve their best.

All of the staff at Devonshire Road are dedicated to supporting every individual child so they can be the best that they can be.

The heart of the school is the amazing team - staff, pupils, governors and families.

This school has always felt like a welcoming home to me, with the children's needs at its centre.

I get to work with the most amazing kind children and the most supportive fabulous staff.
