    Job summary

    Are you a registered Nurse Associate with children's or neonatal experience or an interest in developing new skills, who is committed to providing the best care possible for preterm and sick newborn babies?

    If the answer to the above questions is YES then the Neonatal Unit at the Great Western Hospital could be the place for you.

    The Great Western Hospital are seeking a Nurse Associate to join the team on the Neonatal Unit.

    Main duties of the job

    As a band 4 Nurse Associate you will be working alongside an experienced team to provide care to a range of babies with a variety of conditions. Our Neonatal unit has 18 cots, which is comprised of 2 intensive cots, 4 high dependency cots and 12 special care cots. We are a designated Local Neonatal Unit, (Level 2) providing care for preterm babies from 27 weeks' gestation and for sick new born also have a Transitional Care unit soon to have 8 beds.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Registered Nurse Associate
  • Evidence of personal portfolio
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Desirable

  • Level 3 safeguarding
  • Experience

  • Recent experience nursing children in an acute / community setting
  • Current knowledge of developments in healthcare
  • Able to demonstrate effective consolidation of nursing knowledge and practice after qualification
  • PBLS

  • Experience of working with sick children in the clinical setting
  • At least 2 years post qualification working with babies and children.
