An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join the Domestic Abuse Team at Cheshire West and Chester Council

We have a hours per week) IDVA post for 6 months to cover maternity leave.

Our vision is for all residents of west Cheshire to live lives free from domestic abuse.

We want to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and their families who experience domestic abuse, by creating an environment that supports disclosure and recovery for those who are harmed and provides challenge and support for those who harm.

Our IDVA's are crucial to the delivery of high-quality services to those harmed by domestic abuse.

You will need to be a great team player and be used to responding quickly to high risk and the needs of service users.


Experience in a similar role or experience in providing support to vulnerable people would be preferable but is not essential.

A formal qualification such as IDVA/ISVA is preferable but not essential as full training will be provided.

This is a hybrid role which means that time will be spent working at home, working in the community with clients, and working from the office base at Wyvern House in Winsford.

however, the team works across the whole of the Cheshire West and Chester area and adopts a flexible and mobile approach to working.
