Description
An opportunity has arisen to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced and motivated nurse to the post of Nutrition Nurse .
The post holder can expect training, supervision and assessment in practical and clinical skills to set competencies in order to support the nutrition service.
Your skills will include the assessment of patients referred for parenteral and enteral nutrition placement and management of patient requiring intravenous and enteral feeding tubes (PEGs).
Key aims of your role will be to ensure regular peer review of our nursing staff throughout the trust in relation to parenteral and enteral tube care and management.
Undertake clinical supervision of nursing colleagues on an individual or group basis.
Act as a resource for health care professionals by being visible, available, and accessible for support and advice in relation to the management of patients in the speciality.
Ensure the effective and efficient use of physical and financial resources.Lead in consultations on and contribute to the development of strategies for Oct 2020 delivering effective care within a changing environment that improves the qualityof care and health outcomes in the specialist area.
Responsible for monitoring health, safety and security of self, the team andothers and promote best practice in the ward area.
Ensure systems are in place for risk assessment and minimisation includingpromoting no blame cultures in order that near misses and incidents arereported.
When required take the lead in investigation of incidents / complaints including providing detailed reports / letters to complainants.Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.
