Our client, a local and long-standing service provider based on the outskirts of Exeter, are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their established finance team on an ongoing temporary basis, which will be for a 6-9 month period at the veryleast.

The Assistant Accountant will take full ownership of month end processes ensuring complete accuracy and attention to detail. This role would suit an experienced Assistant Accountant, with excellent Excel skills and experience in query resolution.

The main duties include:

Month end processes
Balance sheet reconciliations
Journal posting including accruals and prepayments
Reviewing payment runs and monitoring cash flow
Process intercompany transactions
Prepare monthly intrastate
ONS and VAT returns
Prepare variance analysis reports
Audit preparation
Company credit care reconciliations
First point of contact for internal customers
Query resolution

In order to be considered you must be available at short notice and have the following:

Experience of working in a similar position, with strong balance sheet reconciliation and month-end experience
AAT Qualified or QBE
Advanced Excel skills
Competent with various accounting systems
Diligence in maintaining and creating accurate records
