About the role


As part of a 50-strong Business Development department, the Clients & Markets team is at the heart of the firm's vision to deliver a distinctive client experience.

The team is responsible for outstanding business development support, helping the firm win profitable business, while protecting high-value relationships, and end-to-end project management of pitches and tenders that are central to the firm's ambitious growth plans.


We are reshaping our key account programme to deliver the firm's vision to be a leading, sector-focused, international law firm and to incorporate client experience principles.

In this context we are seeking a capable and enthusiastic Key Accounts Assistant to help manage these important relationships. There are many opportunities within this role to work closely with our partners and other colleagues. Joining the team at this point offers a truly exciting and rewarding opportunity.


In this role, you will _s _upport the firm's key accounts, the wider BD team and take responsibility for tasks contributing to the delivery of practice and sector groups' strategic objectives.

The role will be based in Birmingham and travel to London may be expected from time to time.


It will involve:

  • Supporting and helping with the administration of key accounts, including attending account meetings, taking minutes and managing follow up, providing regular account updates and preparing regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Relationship mapping activities
  • Support with account planning activities on a regular basis
  • Researching markets, hot topics and target clients
  • Promotion and management of CRM database ensuring all contacts and BD activity is accurately recorded and maintained
  • Support with BD budget management/tracking
  • Events support from time to time
  • Attending and contributing to sector meetings where relevant
  • Supporting the wider business development team as appropriate, such as supporting the Bids team on key account tenders and supporting the Client Listening team
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

About you

You will be:

  • A selfmotivated, positive team player with initiative, a cando approach and able to build rapport at all levels
  • Numerate and able to process and analyse financial data into key findings
  • Able to work within tight deadlines, demonstrating a flexible approach to deliver tasks and projects to time and with high quality outputs
  • Happy to support other individuals and teams when needed

You will have:

  • Solid IT skills, with extensive experience of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail with outstanding grammar and communication skills
  • Curiosity, drive and a desire to learn new skills and ideas
  • Organisational and project management skills
