    Job summary

    Grove medical centre is looking for receptionist/administrator to join their busy practice team. The role will be full-time working between the hours of 8am - 6:30pm. The hours will be based on our rota needs. Flexibility is essential as you will be required to work different hours to cover the rota.

    Main duties of the job

  • To assistand support the patient in an efficient and courteous manner in accessing theservices of the practice.
  • To providereception service that meets the need of the patient.
  • Front linereception duties, dealing with patients face to face.
  • Generalenquires and explaining practice procedures.
  • Dealingwith telephone calls from patients, repeat prescriptions and any other queries.
  • Bookinginterpreters, transport, etc.
  • Maintainingthe appointments system, to arrange appointments as per practice procedure.
  • Dealingwith home visit requests.
  • Maintainingthe system for issue of prescription, to organise prescriptions as per practiceprocedure.
  • To assistand support the clinical staff in the efficient running of the clinics andsurgeries.
  • To provideclerical support within the Practice.
  • Maintainpatient records and data sets, to ensure patient data and records are kept upto date (manually and on the computer).
  • To enterpatient data on to the practice computer system (computerised and manual).
  • To liaisewith hospitals and other agencies.
  • To adhereto the code of confidentiality at all times.
  • To adhereto practice protocols and procedures.
  • Liaisingwith clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Dealingwith orders, supplies, and deliveries.
  • To undertake training as specified by the Practice Manager.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
  • Experience

    Essential

  • You will have excellent communication skills with a clear and polite telephone manner.
  • You will work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times.
  • You will have experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
  • You will be confident to work as part of a team and be able to think on your feet independently.
  • Strong IT and administration skills.
