    Are you a motivated person who takes pride in a job well done? If so, we would love you to join our Facilities Team at your local community hospital.

    We are currently recruiting to a Facilities Service Assistant position, which will be based at Wincanton Community Hospital.

    We have a 30 hour vacancy available. The early shifts are 08:00 - 14:00 and the late shifts are 13:00 - 19:00 and you would be required to work some weekends (usually 2 per month)

    Main duties of the job

    The main duties of the role will be in the housekeeping and catering departments.

    The role involves cleaning departments within the Hospital such as inpatients, outpatients, X-Ray, toilets, meeting rooms, offices as well as cleaning on the ward. You'll also help to prepare patients meals using a cook freeze service and support cleaning within the main kitchen. There will also be opportunities to train in other areas of the facilities team.

    You'll help to play a key role in our ongoing fight against hospital acquired infections by ensuring that the ward is cleaned on a regular basis to a consistently high standard and make a valuable contribution in the wider care team that supports a patient during their time in hospital.

    Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
