    Spencer Clarke Group are now working with an award-winning Chartered Accountancy firm based in Cheadle, Stockport.

    This firm are seeking to recruit a qualified/QBE Accounts Manager to join their team, with the role consisting of accounts-based work, plus other ad hoc assignment work.

    They are a leading group of Chartered Accountants, Business Advisors and Financial Planners in the area, offering a full service in business and personal financial advice. We provide expert support in all areas of accountancy and business & financial planning, which means we're best placed to understand the businesses we work with, and their problems and aspirations, and hence provide the advice and support they need to help them achieve their objectives.

    The clients worked on will be mainly Owner Managed businesses and entrepreneurial businesses, including groups, plus some charitable and not for profit entities.

    The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, with flexible hours of work between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm, subject to client requirements.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded qualified/QBE accountant, who is looking to continue or even widen their experience and challenge themselves to work on a wide range of interesting clients within a leading independent and ambitious practice in the area.

    Duties of the role include:

    Managing of accounts assignments

    Overseeing of job planning and completion

    Liaison with clients on organisation of the work and work requirements, as well as advising the client on matters generally, plus being a key part of the client relationship team

    Oversee and manage the on the job team on a job by job basis

    Review the teams work

    Report to partners on individual jobs

    Attend and hold client meetings

    Assist with managing the accounts team generally and overall job planning and scheduling

    Assist with staff management, training, development and appraisals generally

    Be involved in other ad hoc advisory and support assignments for clients

    Skills and personal qualities

    The successful candidate should:

    be commercially minded and analytical when reviewing and preparing figures and information

    have worked in an accountancy practice and have experience of running accounts assignments

    have strong Microsoft office suite skills especially Excel

    ideally have knowledge and experience of accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks

    be able to respond well to balancing work loads.

    be able to communicate well and have strong client facing skills.

    work well in a team and with a wide range of people.

    be organised and methodical.

    have strong analytical and project management skills.

    be proactive and able to take the initiative.

    be able to motivate and inspire colleagues.

    be well presented with a professional manner.

    have a good business awareness.

    be able to work within a budget.
