    Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual looking for a rewarding role within a supportive and inclusive working environment? West Berkshire Council is seeking an Assistant Registrar to join our Registration Service and contribute to the delivery of high-quality registration services.

    As the Assistant Registrar, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registration Manager-Spr.Int. Registrar in the efficient and effective administration of the registration service. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the registration of births, deaths, marriages, and civil partnerships
  • Providing excellent customer service to members of the public, offering guidance and advice on registration processes
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with legal requirements
  • Conducting marriage and civil partnership ceremonies as required
  • Assisting with the coordination of citizenship ceremonies
  • To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in record-keeping and data entry
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact confidently with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficiency in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications
