A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Dietetics Department at Glan Clwyd Hospital as a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian, to cover a period of maternity leave, for 14 months.

This post will give you the opportunity to work with the Conwy and Denbighshire multidisciplinary paediatric teams, and to develop cutting edge Nutrition and Dietetic services for the children and young people of North Wales.

You will also provide professional supervision and advice to band 5 Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants, and Students.

You will have the opportunity to plan and implement a robust quality improvement process for nutrition in the paediatric service.

This post would suit established or aspiring Paediatric Dietitians. All necessary support and supervision will be provided to the right individual. This is a full time, permanent post, offering excellent development opportunity within a super team, in the fabulous location of North Wales

This post is for a fixed term period.


To work in partnership with the paediatrics team to provide evidence based care to children an young people; this will include group and one-to-one work.

To see young people in multiple setting including as inpatients and outpatients - but at times in their own homes or education/social care setting

To work as an autonomous practitioner and member of the paediatric dietetic team as well as the paediatric team.

To establish new and innovative working practices in collaboration with health and other agencies as appropriate.

To liaise with other disciplines and agencies in order to ensure co-ordination of care.

To participate in the collection of data as required.

To liaise with dietetic and paediatric colleagues and develop appropriate resources for programme delivery, reviewing and updating content to meet changing demands

Supervising and training Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and students

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
