An exciting opportunity for an experienced User Researcher to join a large Public Sector organisation in Edinburgh.

You will work alongside Service Design and UX lead and guide User Research activity for this project, ensuring that user centred design is at the very core of our services and using data, evidence directly from service users to validate user journeys and prototypes, feeding back to refine the UX and overall service design.


Essential skills:

  • 3+ years' experience as a user researcher.
  • Experience in delivering at least 1 government project to either GDS; SAtSD; or Digital Scotland service standards
  • Experience in prioritising a user needs backlog
  • Awareness of researching with and for disabled users
  • Awareness of the importance of research ethics and experience in following ethical guidelines
  • Experience working in a crossfunctional team as part of a design function working with service, UX and content design
  • Knowledge and understanding of inclusive and ethical research methods.
  • Expert in objective validation and sense making of data to elicit reliable findings and insights
  • Experience and expertise in both User Centred Design and Agile methodology
  • Experience in researching with and for disabled users
