Contract Manager (Waste collections)

Location:
South Buckinghamshire


Salary:
Up £50,000 per annum (dependant on experience) plus bonus, company car/car allowance, private medical cover and pension.


Hours:40 hours per week - Monday to Friday/5 days per week.

South Buckinghamshireteam.


Reporting directly to the Senior Contract Manager, the Contract Manager will manage three to five direct reports, over three operational sites and be responsible for the management of the Waste and Recycling collections service, ancillary services and thestreet cleansing services.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the team and maintain a visible presence for employees on site and on the rounds.
  • Ensure that the depot and collection/streets operation is run in line with Veolia Minimum Requirements with improvement plans in place to address any areas of noncompliance.
  • Implementing people management processes and procedures in line with company policy.
  • Ensuring training and competency checks are in place for all roles
  • Safe delivery of a first time collection culture and all contractual performance KPI's.
  • Developing an excellent day to day relationship with senior clients, elected members and trade union representatives.
  • Managing people & assets to deliver efficient & profitable service.
  • Maintain a compliant and well run fleet of vehicles.
  • Identify, propose and justify potential improvements to plant and equipment (Asset identification & Management).
  • Assess Supervisor competency including observing them carrying out their role (crew monitoring, PDR, team briefings).
  • Set and present budgets and manage monthly financial performance.

What are we looking for?

  • A proficient manager with a proven track record of proficient business acumen and financial management.
  • Previous experience in leading and developing a team.
  • Waste & fleet management experience is desirable.
  • Previous contract management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety.
