    Description

    The successful candidate will deliver an evidence based, high quality dietetics service to acute medical inpatients and those with liver disease in Wolverhampton.

    Our Nutrition & Dietetic Service has excellent relationships with our MDT colleagues and our well respected team of 35 provide a service to the ethnically diverse populations of Wolverhampton & Cannock. We provide clinical placements for dietetics students throughout the year.

    Main duties of the job You will be responsible for planning and implementing dietetic care for patients in a variety of settings. You will work with patients and other members of the MDT to optimise outcomes for liver patients. You will also have an inpatient caseload comprising liver and other medical patients.

    You will also have an educational & supervisory role, participating in training of student dietitians and other health care professionals as well as developing junior members of the team. Job description Job responsibilities You will be responsible for a clinical caseload of liver patients, and work with patients and carers, MDT colleagues and other agencies to deliver effective evidence based nutrition interventions. You will provide a service to adult inpatient wards and also support the team leader in development of junior colleagues.

    In addition to your clinical role you will lead & contribute to a variety of audit and quality improvement projects undertaken by the team. There will be occasional evening work, not expected to exceed 6 sessions per year.

    • Clinical educator training
    Experience and learning Essential
    • Evidence of post-registration learning
    • Clinical experience with a range of patients & settings
    • Interest and experience working with liver patients

    • Project management experience eg audit
    • Post registration training/experience in hepatology
    Communication Skills Essential
    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Evidence of good working relationships with the MDT
