Classroom Support Assistant

Sunderland (Full Time/Long Term)

£350 - £450 per week (salary is depending n experience and/or qualifications)

ASAP - Ongoing


About the role:

Vision for Education are working together with this SEND school to recruit an experienced and dedicated Classroom Support Assistant.

This will be a full time/long term role, meaning the successful Classroom Support Assistant will be working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30 to 16:30.

Throughout the role of a Classroom Support Assistant, you will be working with and supporting children and young people who have complex needs with their academic learning as well as supporting the class teacher with any additional tasks they may have.

This can include taking part in break and lunch time supervision, helping to prepare and clear away the classroom, working in small groups as well as working on a 1:1 basis with students who require extra support with their work.


About the school:


This specialist school, located in Sunderland, supports children and young people aged between 11 and 19 who have complex needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH).


Requirements:

To be considered for the role of Classroom Support Assistant you will:

  • Must have enhanced DBS registered on the update service/ be willing to go through the DBS process if do not already hold certificate
  • Must have experience and be passionate about the progress of SEND pupils
  • Must be able to work as part of a team as well as individually
  • Must be kind, caring and compassionate
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
