- To conduct expert assessments of mental health in individuals with learning disabilities and offer management advice to patients, referrers, and carers.
- To maintain up-to-date clinical notes, adhere to Trust/service requirements, and ensure effective communication.
- To lead the MDT in evaluating treatment options and liaising with patients, carers, and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
- To facilitate admission and discharge pathways for patients requiring mental health admission, working closely with the MDT, patients, carers, and other stakeholders.
- To provide guidance and support to colleagues within the service and CAG, ensuring safe and evidence-based practices.
- To establish connections with relevant external agencies and organizations as needed.
- The post-holder will actively contribute to the development of neurodevelopmental disorders services and participate in various clinical and organizational meetings.
- Any changes in clinical activities will be discussed with relevant leads before implementation.
- The consultant will play a key role in leading research efforts and supporting ongoing projects.
- Engagement in training activities and sharing expertise will be encouraged within the organization.
- Participation in clinical audits and dissemination of knowledge regarding service outcomes are essential.

The primary responsibilities of this consultant post include providing clinical care for PWID caseload, conducting outpatient clinics and home visits, attending CPA reviews, and collaborating with colleagues from the Croydon Community Learning Disability Team and other mental health services. Additionally, the post holder will provide clinical coverage for other Trust MHLD consultants and vice versa.
