I have been working as a structural engineer for C2C Consulting Engineers, Stoke on tent ,UK since 2020. In this period, I have involved many projects which include residential and commercial project. During my engineering career as structural engineer I involved to design large scale steel structural factory complex project   for EL-TORO roofing product  in Chillaw Sri Lanka , Multi Story Office Complex for Commissioner General of Labour, Department of Labour, Colombo,Sri Lanka and Office building for World Vision Lanka in Colombo, etc. I am also involved in redesigning existing structures to make them efficient and safe for the public use. I am comfortable to work outdoors, travel and work for long hours with equal efficiency and confidence. I know how to overcome all types of obstacles that arise in the designing and engineering process. 

I am a confident and energetic individual who can easily learn and implement new skills at the workplace itself. I am also very friendly with colleagues and I know that coordination and communication is the key to achieve success in a team-based environment. I have master degree in Structural engineering in Coventry university and I am member of structural Engineering Institute(Istruc) and Civil Engineering Institute (ICE) in UK.

• Analyse configurations of the basic components of a structure
• Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes by using computer aids such as Tekla tedds,Tekla structural designers and Tekla connection.
• Consider the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete, steel and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design
• Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction
• Examine structures at risk of collapse and advise how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure
• Make drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for building contractors
• Work with geotechnical engineers to investigate ground conditions and analyse results of soil sample and in situ tests
• Liaise with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound
• Apply expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures

• Muilti Storeyed Office Complex for Western Provincial Council at Denzil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha, Battaramulla - 3 Parking Levels, 12 Upper Floors and Council Chamber at the Most Upper Level. 
• Multi-storied Office Complex at 220, Kirula Road, Colombo 5 for Commissioner General of Labour.  Involved in Structural Designs and Contract Administrator of Basement, Semi Basement, 4 Upper Parking Levels & 24 Upper Levels, 3 Levels of Auditorium, Recreation/Terrace, and Service Floor & Machine Room.
• Factory Complex at Chilaw for Rhino Products Ltd

Refurbishment and Interior Fit-out for World Vision Lanka at 619/8, Dr. Danister de Silva Mawatha, Colombo 9. 

• Designing, Testing and Commissioning of 1000 Kw Grid – TIE Solar power System for Finlays Cold Stores at Welisara.

Job   Responsibilities;

1. Load Assessments with Applicable Standards and 3-Dimensional Finite Element Modelling with Computer Aided Analysis and Design Software such as ETABS, SAP2000 and SAFE.
2. Carry out Structural Design to Relevant Standards, Using Engineering Formulas, Skills Ensuring Safe, Economical, Durable and Structurally Viable Building, Satisfying all relevant Serviceability Criteria. Review and revise Design Calculations and Shop Drawings submitted by Steel Contractors to verify connections, welding, and member sizes.
3. Preparing Sketches, Marking-up Drawings, Writing Specifications etc.
4. Preparation of Structural Drawings of the Structure along with Draftsmen to meet specific standards.
