Marine Mechanical (third) Engineer with 13 years experience in-rank in my profession and over 10 years Offshore experience.

Studied at the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies at HND level in the field of Mechanical Engineering (marine).

Skilled and experienced with a wide variety of Engineering disciplines and technical installations which include but are not limited to:-
- Heavy Two and Four Stroke Diesel and HFO Engines
- Freon Refrigeration Systems 
- Electrical Power Generation and Management
- Mechanical Fabrication

Experience

Position: Third Engineering Officer, Vroon Offshore Services BV, Het Nieuwe Werk 88, 1781 Den Helder, Netherlands. 

Dates: September 2012 – present.

  Eleven years’ experience as both Junior and Senior Third Engineer aboard Dive Support Vessels, Platform Supply Vessels and Subsea Support Vessels operating in the North, Irish and Baltic Seas and within the Caribbean on a 4 weeks on / off rotation.  Operating and maintaining DP1 & DP2 (Kongsberg) system on several vessels.  Trained and experienced with AMOS Planned Maintenance System. Experience with work planning and machinery maintenance scheduling. 

 

Position: Third Engineering Officer, CEMEX UK Marine Ltd., Baltic Wharf, Elm Street, Marine Parade, Southampton, SO14 5JF, U.K. 

Dates: September 2011 – September 2012

  Twelve months experience aboard Aggregate Dredgers operating in European waters on a 3 weeks on / off rotation.  Operating with a demanding work schedule with little shore-side support.  Lone/sole Watch-Keeping experience in charge of Engine Room duties and maintenance during night hours with little to no assistance. 

 

Position: Third Engineering Officer, UK Dredging, Queen Alexandra House, Cargo Road, Cardiff, South Wales, CF10 4LY, U.K. Dates: 

August 2011 – September 2011

Dates: February 2011 – May 2011

  Responsible Watch-keeping duties as required by an EOoW on-board VLCC’s.  Maintenance keeping and repairs of Engine Room machinery and plants.  Management and work planning of Engine Room Ratings.  Experience on auxiliary machinery required for Crude Oil cargo operations: Inert Gas systems, Steam Turbines etc.
