About Andrew Palmer:

Hello, my name is Andrew Palmer i am currently 18 years old and have spent the last two years completing my A-Levels in Economics, Business studies and History. I previously worked at a local Fish and Chip restaurant and gained valuable experience in a variety of roles which helped enhance my understanding of the importance of working as a team. I am looking forward to joining the workforce and tacking on new responsibilities which will help me develop. Outside of work i watch numerous sports such as American football, Basketball and Formula One and also enjoy playing 5 aside football.

Experience

January 2020 – March 2023 - Sales assistant/waiter

Superfish (Fish & Chip Restaurant and Takeaway), 2&4 Woodfield Lane, Ashtead KT21 2BE

  • Responsibilities included order taking and fulfilment, money handling & stock control. As an experienced member of the team, I also trained and supervised new employees. Much of the role involved dealing directly with customers and making sure they were satisfied with their experience including handling with complaints or issues.
  • During covid we had to change the way we operated, and I was involved in creating new processes for taking orders via the telephone and internet and ensuring social distancing.

July 2022 Work experience & June and July 2021 cover covid absences – Teaching Assistant/ Lunch Supervisor

Greville Primary School, Stonny Croft Bramley Way Ashtead KT21 1SH

  • Classroom Assistant. I assisted teachers with numerous tasks such as setting up lessons, planning games in physical education and helping organise events during sports day.  I also worked independently with the children hosting intervention groups for groups of 2 to 5 children in reading, spelling and mathematics.
  • Lunchtime Supervisor. Performed lunchtime duties including organising activities and ensuring children’s safety.
  • Sports day committee member. I worked in part of a team to help run sports day smoothly and communicated with other staff members to make sure everyone was safe and enjoyed the day.

January to March 2019 - Assistant Coach Greville Primary School football team

  • Using my experience from the training sessions I benefitted from when playing for the Ashtead Colts football team, I designed and ran training sessions for the school’s year 6 team, in support of the schools PE teacher.
