Andy Parker
Retail
About Andy Parker:
I have spent most of my life in retail, on tills, in a petrol station doing a variety of tasks and have worked in-store in supermarkets filling stock. I am a trained journalist and have good typing skills and am good at face to face interactions with customers.
Experience
I originally trained and worked as a journalist, but my other half's career took off, so I took a back seat combining part-time work in supermarkets with doing all the domestic tasks at home. After 21 years working in a petrol station, I looked for a change and have worked servicing medical equipment and as a kitchen assistant, but I miss the retail environment and customer focus of retail and so would like to return to a retail position. I have experience in serving customers, answering telephones, putting out stock and working as part of a small team, working together to do a variety of tasks - this is something that suits me well and I enjoy hugely.
Education
I am not sure how relevant any of my education is, but I am a fully qualified journalist, I have additionally 2 degrees, 3 ‘A’ levels and 9 ‘O’ levels, all good grades. I am literate and numerate and have a wide knowledge of many subjects, which makes me easy to talk to, I think and as someone brought up on the UK's largest council estate, I think my exams show I am hard working and follow through to complete courses successfully.
