Anna Maria Thotekat Antony

As a recent psychology graduate, I'm excited to begin my journey in the field of psychology. Throughout my academic career, I've developed a strong foundation in a variety of areas, including cognitive psychology, social psychology, and research methods. I'm eager to apply my theoretical knowledge and passion for helping others in a professional setting. Although I don't have any professional experience yet, I'm eager to learn and gain new skills. I'm open to volunteer and entry-level opportunities that will allow me to grow and contribute to the field of psychology. I'm always looking for new connections and opportunities to learn, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any advice, guidance, or opportunities to share. 

I am working in a care home in Yate, Bristol as a Care Assistant. Most of the residents in this care home are affected by dementia and they need special care both physically and mentally. I have volunteered at some orphanages in India.  I have had the privilege of interacting with diverse groups of children and adolescents with special needs. These experiences have provided me with valuable insights into the unique challenges they face and have nurtured my ability to be patient, empathetic, and understanding. I have learned to communicate effectively with individuals of varying abilities and adapt my approach to meet their specific needs. Additionally, I have developed excellent observation skills, enabling me to identify individuals' strengths and areas where additional support may be required. 

I am an MSc Health Psychology student at the University of the West of England, Bristol. I will get graduate in October 2023.
