Ashleigh Graham

I am a recently qualified primary school teacher (graduated July 2022), with a specialism in Early Years. Since graduating I have spent three months on supply teaching classes throughout the primary school key stages, I spent four months as a Level 2 teaching assistant supporting a year 6 class, and since March I have undertaken the role of Level 3 nursery practitioner/interim room leader in a private preschool class where I have thrived and developed my knowledge and skills in my expert area or early years. I am passionate about what I do, with special interests in early literacy, early mathematics and sensory based play/art in the early years.

Before I undertook my teacher training I had many years experience working in primary schools and nurseries in a range of different (voluntary) roles including classroom assistant, reading helper and unqualified nursery assistant. I also have extensive experience working with parents and families from my time working as a family befriender with Home Start Wirral which involved supporting vulnerable families with young children to improve their lives and mental health. Since graduating I have worked as a supply teacher, a teaching assistant and a Level 3 preschool practitioner and room leader.

I have QTS from Edge Hill University, my full teacher training qualification is PGCE Primary Early Years Education (QTS), which I gained with a Merit.

Before this I gained by BA (Hons) degree in Childhood and Youth Studies with the Open University.
