About Beatriz Sanabria-Barradas:
Biomedical Engineer
PhD Candidate
Experience
Research Internship in Nottingham Trent University (September 2021-currently)
- I am working on the development of robust biomarkers for the classification of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) using electroencephalography (EEG) data. These biomarkers stem from the brain's responses and reactions to various emotional stimuli. The biomarkers are being estimated using statistical signal processing and machine learning techniques. Besides, I am estimating the level of event-related responses, the power of brain activities in different frequency bands, and connectivities between the corresponding brain regions from the EEG signals. The techniques such as blind source separation and tensor factorization, using multivariate autoregressive or recurrent neural networks will be practiced in my research.
PhD Candidate in Universidad Veracruzana (August 2018-Currently)
- My Ph.D. project aims to develop software that allows analyzing electroencephalographic signals to identify patterns of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to discriminate between a normal and ASD electroencephalogram as a support tool for early diagnosis of the disorder.
Biomedical Engineer (April 2018 - July 2018)
- Preventive and corrective maintenance for surgery room, imaging, emergency, and intensive care teams. Management of endoscopy and colonoscopy equipment. Support during surgeries.
Research Fellowship in Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación (May - December 2017)
- Development of the digital part of an electro stimulator using an FPGA
